Brian is back at St Elias. You are still required to treat him as a hazardous material by wearing gloves, gown, and mask. He opened his eyes today and kept them open while I was there but did not squeeze my hand in response. He has a lot of catching up to do.
Medicare did finally qualify Brian so his ongoing needs are covered. The very costly month of August is not covered. That is a concern to Jennifer.
Brian sleeps on in ICU. I visited him yesterday and the nurse confirmed that he has medication resistant infections. Shane was there also. Indication was that Brian will not be leaving ICU anytime soon.
Jennifer got to spend about ten minutes with Brian yesterday. He was getting wired up for either a EKG or EEG or something like that.
The doctors were pleased with the procedure to remove the infected bone and the state of affairs in the location. I gather that he is still pretty sedated.
Jennifer's car now has a new windshield after the windstorm blew a board through the old one. I noticed that the crew working on the house was installing laminate flooring. Brian is going to be pretty surprised when he goes home!
Brian is scheduled for surgery tomorrow to take out the bone that was originally removed and then reinserted. It is infected and as I understand it will not go back again.
On Monday evening, August 10, 2009, about 7:30 PM Brian fell from a scissor lift in his shop where he was spraying insulation on the ceiling. This blog is dedicated to his recovery and family information so you can pray.
